The History of Accelerators |
In some 70 years the
accelerators have grown from the 13 cm diameter
cyclotron of E. Lawrence, which accelerated protons
to an energy of 80 keV, to the 27 km circumference
collider accelerating proton beams to an energy of 7
TeV.

constructed by E. Lawrence in 1931 accelerated
protons to an energy of 80 keV. |
